Women’s Self Defence at Training Grounds.

Welcome to the empowering world of Women’s Self-Defence at Training Grounds, with our fun and inclusive classes, exclusively designed for women. 


Regardless of your fighting experience or fitness level, our goal is to impart practical and effective self defence techniques in our classes, which are suitable for all abilities and ages. 

Our Classes Cover the Fundamentals of SELF DEFENCE, including: 

– Recognising warning signs & tapping into your intuition, 
– De-escalation strategies & distance control, 
– Grab and Strike defence from both standing and the ground, 
– Efficient methods to break free from grabs and other defence scenarios… and much much more!

With an endless number of scenarios and techniques to learn, we will ensure every class teaches you something new.

No Martial Arts Experience Necessary!

Our program is designed for anyone. Whether you’re a complete newcomber or a practiced Martial Artist. We will tailor the program for your level, because at the end of the day, the techniques we teach are valuable to anyone looking for self defence training. 




Various martial art forms are integrated into the program such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Kick Boxing, Muay Thai and Boxing. The workshops include various techniques and demonstrations including personal space development, standing and grounding attack defences and live scenarios. 



Our Women’s Self Defence classes run on the last Saturday of every month, from 11.30am.

Single sessions – $45.00 per person

5 Class pack – $200.00 ($40.00 each, no expiry date!)

10 Class pack – $350.00 ($35 each, no expiry date!)  



In addition to our one week free trial, this year all of our Women’s Self Defence participants will recieve   a free class token, to be redeemed at any of our Training Grounds sessions (as per the timetable), which will be valid for the month following your session. 

Great classes to attend if you’re new to Martial Arts would be: 

Women’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – Wednesday 6.30am 

or any of our Fundamentals Sessions. 


We are also available for private corporate groups and events, and can host a self defence session at Training Grounds, or we can come to you.

We have previously held groups of teens during the School holidays, corporate team building events, as well as social groups.

The coaches are extremely patient, encourage questions, push you to do better and provide coaching at competitions. The members are humble, friendly and the higher belts are always open to giving you feedback and correcting technique. For those thinking of giving Jiu-Jitsu a try I would highly recommend it. Although I have constant joint pain, it has surpassed all my expectations as I feel happier, more confident and more resilient for it. It’s also a great way to practice your English and Brazilian accent.
