Caio was born at the heart of BJJ. Rio de Janeiro. He was your typical high energy kid, and with a mother that worked night and day to provide for her family, Caio would leave school and proceed to train for the rest of the day.
Caio Started his practice when he was 5 years old with Tae Kwon do, and with the motivation of martial arts heroes like Bruce Lee and Jean Claude Van Damme, he never looked back, having added 10 years of Muay Thai/boxing and 8 years of Capoeira along the way.
BJJ was the last discipline to be added and very begrudgingly. Having had the stand-up expertise, he (like most martial artists at the time) believed that it was enough to beat the BJJ game. On his first experience Caio wasn’t enjoying the session, until the instructor partnered him with a skinny, short, purple belt girl. In his own words “The girl kicked my arse for 10 minutes in front of the whole class”. That was 14 years ago, and from that moment on, Caio became a BJJ student and received his black belt from legendary master Claudio Arrais, Rillion Gracie Academy.
Along with all this Martial arts experience Caio graduated with a degree in physical education and has worked as a personal trainer for over 10 years.
